88rising , the record label and content platform known for creating a space for Asian artists to be exposed to the West has created a Filipino label called Paradise Rising. Their first EP called "semilucent" features artists Jason Dhakal, Leila Alcasid, Massiah, Fern, Kiana V and producer Moophs. This five song EP is an amazing first release and is a must listen if you enjoy R&B, Soul, Hip-Hop and Alt-pop.
Jason Dhakal, singer and model, is on the first track of this EP called "Endlessly+Tenderly". If you enjoy Daniel Caesar he's definitly an artist to look out for with his soulful R&B vocals. Dhakal was born in Oman but is now based in the Philippines.
"Clouds" is the next single by Leila Alcasid and producer Moophs. Leila Alcasid is a 22 year-old Filipino-Australian artist. She grew up in Australia but moved back to the Philippines to grow her craft with her father Ogie Alcasid who is a well-known musician and actor in her home country. Moophs is a producer based in Manila, Philippines and is the head of Tarsier Records.
The next track "On God" by Massiah is such a tune and should be on the charts among other hip-hop hits. Haissam Morton is a Ghanaian-Filipino artist going by the stage name Massiah.
Fern sings the fourth song on the EP called "Kaori". Fern has been exposed to music from a young age with his parents both coming from musical families and his father being a well known folk singer in his day. Fern describes his sound as cool-pop and his biggest fear as an independent artist would be not being given freedom to create pure art.
The final song of the EP "Safe Place" is sung by Kiana V. The 27 year-old Filipino R&B singer-songwriter is the daughter of Filipino music icon Gary Valenciano. She started as an independent artist in 2017 and in 2018, she signed with Moophs' record label Tarsier Records.

You can stream "semilucent" on all major streaming platforms!
